SONG O' THE DAY

"Semi Precious Weapons" & "Magnetic Baby" - Semi Precious Weapons [We Love You]

Semi Precious Weapons got started in good ol' NYC, that's no surprise, but they're AWESOMENESS is. As you can see I love ALL music and I haven't come across a recent band that can rock out so well. Justin Tranter on the vocals, Dan Crean on the drums [ i love drummers], and Cole Whittle on bass they bring the heat. With a mission statement like "bring fun, glamour, sex, filth and the party back to music. And we take that very seriously. We miss rent, collect cans, and sleep on couches all over the world just to bring you roughNroll-glamour-fun-times." I see a bright future ahead for this glam garage band. If you're wondering how that would sound imagine a heap of garbage with diamonds and rubys sprinkled all over.

P.S. I found out about them cuz I love Raquel Reed's [the girl sitting in front of the drum set] hair. The End.

rock oooown!

Kern on the Cob [ahaha!]

Richard Kern

Surfing the world wide web I found an image promoting Richard Kern's exhibit in New York that ended the first of the month. That SUCKED. So I ventured onward to his site to see what lil daddy was workin' with and I was overwhelmed w/ pleasure. Anybody who knows me knows I LOVE Michael Kors and nude women, I volunteered to pose nude for Terry Richardson BUT that is neither here nor there. Kern like all artists has an obsession with something, in his case it seems to be women [my fav is "Martynka Sings" (Soft)], and he explains all that in the biography section of his site. Made in North Carolina and now a permenant fixture on "3rd Street between Avenues C and D" Kern boasts of being a central point of a movement now known as the Cinema of Transgression and attributes his knoweledge of the photog game to his pops who was a photographer for the local paper back in N.C. The self described "hick living in NYC" is the shit and I hope to see one of his exhibits before he dies. Shorty is OLD AS HELL! [lol] Kern has also written a gazillion books, the latest Looker has my favorite cover, click the pics to go to his site.

nudie nudie nudie, and I'm not talkin' jeans baby.
