I'm just REALLY late on this one lol but I love when stuf in Chicago is AUTHENTIC. You know how New Yorkers love Sex & The City because it's real, that's what it's like when something done in Chicago is something a REAL Chicagoan would do : ) cool. Wrigleyville! [but Go Sox! tho']

FACE|OFF

Hey Champ vs The Killers

Hey Champ is from Chicago, The Killers aren't. I heard about The Killers because I watched The O.C.[back in the day] and was OBSESSED w/ Adam Brody's character Seth Cohen. Seth Cohen was in to hella indie rock shit so I was too. Speaking of "indie rock" shit, both groups ["bands"] use those two genres as a description for their music on MySpace. So there you have it, your comparison, and your contrast. Now go FORTH in to the world, you've got some work to do. Oh! I heard of Hey Champ because they're from Chicago so everybody let me know about them once Lupe Fiasco signed them to 1st & 15th Entertainment && mikeandvic.com.

P.S. "face|off" came in to existance as of one o'clock this afternoon because I woke up singing Mr. Brightside, started playing it online THEN me and Nick got in to this "deep" discussion about artists. During this discussion we both brought up Hey Champ and he compared them to The Killers, so I'm like it's a sign from Jesus and decided to incorporate "face|off" in to the blog because I'm ALWAYS using comparisons to introduce my friends to new music so, keep your eyes peeled for MORE! : D

SONG(S) OF THE DAY

"Valediction" and "Daykeeper" by The Foreign Exchange [Leave It All Behind]

Yes, that IS Phonte from Little Brother [Raleigh, N.C.]. He's joined forces with Holland's Nicolay [he's a producer] to make The Foreign Exchange. If you ask me, at this rate they'll be swimming in USD and Euros. COME TO CHICAGO GUYS!!

Word, to TyJuan for the recommendation DANKE.
