dirty 30 numbeeeeerr NINETEEN!
Heaven, I'm in heavennn...Do you understand what happened the first time I passed this in Borders? It's like my heart skipped a beat and no one was there but me and this book. I was tempted to flip through it but I felt like that was a violation, against some code of ethics. If you know ANYONE, ANYONE who loves music as much as I, get them this. If they don't like it EFF 'EM cuz you tried [then take the book back and use it yourself].
Tom Moon compiled this list after years of extensive research all around the world. If you, like I do, listen to NPR [you'll know what that means if you do] you've heard him interview all types of musicians from Ibrahim Ferrer to Miles Davis to Frank Zappa. He's won award after award for his work and during said interviews he would ask each artist to name songs they deemed "essential". HELLO! Could you imagine hearing music Miles Davis finds ESSENTIAL? Not good, not easy on the ears but absolutely necessary to his life??????? WILD! "There's great treasure waiting on the other side of wherever you draw your territorial lines." - Tom Moon

A little kit! I'm sure you know the people you're gifting for right? I'm also positive you know EVERYTHING in the whole wide world comes MINIATURE sized too. So find all the shit you know they like, miniature size it and BAM! You got yourself a gift.
example:
mini bottle of liquor
...and anything else that comes mini [lol]
should cost as much as you want to spend

da Dirty 30
If you've been following me thus far, you know the whole story behind how my Christmas is going to be spent [pun intended]. If you don't, scroll back and you'll find the entry about it. Christmas is arriving faster than I think many of us realized. Outside of the state of the current economy, many CRAZY things have been happening all around the world and it seems like this holiday season will be fueled with more love than ever before. I figure if my sister can make an economic decision considering everyone in my family, got DAMMIT I can too [you, internet/themrs145 users, being my extended family]. So over the weeks counting down to christmas, I'm going to post 30 gifts I think are not only economical [$30 && under] but COOL as shit and memorable too! I am a self-proclaimed great gift giver so you really can't go wrong with what I suggest. Happy hunting and most of all, HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Dirty 30 - #1
For all you "80's Babies", Watchmen created by: Alan Moore, Dave Gibbons & John Higgins was a 12 issue limited series in 1986 and 7 published by DC Comics. Moore used the story as a means to reflect contemporary anxieties and to deconstruct the superhero concept. Watchmen takes place in an alternate history United States where the country is edging closer to a nuclear war with the Soviet Union. After government-sponsored superhero The Comedian is found murdered, the vigilante Rorschach warns his former colleagues of what he believes is a conspiracy to kill costumed heroes. As the story progresses, the protagonists discover that one of the heroes has resolved to stave off war between the United States and the USSR by carrying out a plan that will kill millions of innocent people. This is a great gift for ANYBODY who loves comic books/graphic novels, super heroes anything of the sort. Make the gift even cooler, a movie coming out based on the series is set to release March 6, 2009, treat the same person you gave the book to for Christmas, to the movie next year! GET IT? : D That's such a good idea [note to self: pat own back]. You can watch the trailer here. I expect both the novel and movie to be DOPE as shit. You can't EVER go wrong with dope.
