"Man Crazy Nurse" - Richard Prince [2003]

If you like Louis Vuitton, you know who Richard Prince is already. His Jokes collection was (and still is) a pretty big deal, one goes like this:

White man: "I don't know what to do. My house has burned to the ground, my wife died, my car's been stolen, and the doctor says I gotta have a serious operation."
Black man: "What you kickin' about, you white ain't you?"

[har har har]I learned about Prince [painter/photographer] during school this year in class. His Nurse Paintings have been a big hit especially as far as pop-art is concerned (for an in depth description of what the series is about go here). Prince's not so typical approach to art [like rephotography], what it is and what it "should" be, has made him a rebel even amongst artists. Another exhibit he's installed is called "Hoods" and it's at the Guggenheim, the exhibit is literally a bunch of car hoods placed around a room..that's ILL. When you go to his page [by clicking the image above] be sure to read "bird talk" he has loads of cool ish to say in my opinion, maybe you will read it and be encouraged and inspired.
